Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into meatballs and set aside.
Cooking
- Place sliced onions in the bottom of the crockpot.
- Arrange the meatballs on top, then pour the combined beef broth and French onion soup over them.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
Serving
- If desired, top with sliced cheese during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Serve the meatballs warm with the onion and broth mixture.
Notes
Crockpot French Onion Meatballs can be served as a main dish with crusty bread, over rice or pasta, or in meatball subs. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. For more flavor, use fresh herbs and consider adding red pepper flakes for spice.
