Method
Make & Rise the Dough
- In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
- Add warm water and olive oil, then knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Prepare Filling & Shape Buns
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In another bowl, combine shredded chicken, spicy sauce, and cheese.
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into small balls and flatten each one.
- Place a spoonful of filling in the center, fold over, and seal the edges.
Bake & Serve
- Arrange the buns on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with herbs.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Store any leftover buns in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze them for longer storage. To reheat, simply pop them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes or microwave for a quick warm-up. For extra flavor, consider adding garlic powder, onion powder, or your favorite spices to the chicken mixture. Experiment with different cheeses or sauces to customize the profile.
