  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme Use fresh thyme for best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Caramelize onions in olive oil over medium heat for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey), breadcrumbs, cheese, egg, garlic powder, thyme, salt, pepper, and cooled onions; mix well.
Baking
  1. Form the mixture into a loaf and place it on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
  2. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 50–60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Serving
  1. Let the meatloaf rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing to lock in the juices.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Cool the caramelized onions before mixing them with the meat to keep the cooking even. Fresh herbs enhance flavor; consider adding minced jalapeños or red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
