  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (preferably organic with 'the mother') Use raw and unfiltered for the best health benefits.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Ceylon cinnamon is recommended for lower coumarin content.
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey Use local honey for additional allergy-fighting benefits.
  • 1 small lemon, juiced Approximately 2 tablespoons of fresh juice.
  • 1 cup warm water Not boiling, around 110°F (43°C).
Optional Ingredients
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger For enhanced thermogenic effect.
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper For metabolism boost.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat filtered water to about 110°F (43°C) and pour into a glass or ceramic mug. Avoid plastic.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar and stir well. Shake the vinegar bottle beforehand.
Mixing
  1. Stir in ground cinnamon, and if desired, add ground ginger and a pinch of cayenne. Whisk thoroughly.
Serving
  1. Add fresh lemon juice and stir in raw honey until fully dissolved. Let sit for 1-2 minutes for flavors to meld. Enjoy warm or over ice with a lemon slice or mint sprig.

Notes

Variations include substituting honey for maple syrup for a vegan option, using turmeric instead of cinnamon for anti-inflammatory benefits, or enhancing the drink with fresh mint.
