Ingredients

Marinade Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (such as dill or parsley), optional Add if desired for extra flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir in chopped fresh herbs if using.
Marinating
  1. Place salmon fillets in a resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the top, seal or cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Cooking
  1. Remove the salmon from the marinade (discard marinade) and cook using your preferred method—grill, bake, or pan-fry—until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Serve warm.

Notes

Taste the marinade before using and adjust the ingredients to suit your preferences. For extra flavor, let the salmon marinate for longer, but no more than 2 hours to prevent the fish from becoming mushy. Serve with vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
