  • 1.5 pounds ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup BBQ sauce (divided) Half for mixing and half for glazing
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley Optional garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan or line a tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, onion, garlic, half of the BBQ sauce, salt, and pepper just until combined.
Cooking
  1. Shape the mixture into a loaf in the prepared pan or free-form on the tray.
  2. Bake for 30 minutes.
Glazing and Serving
  1. Remove from the oven, brush with remaining BBQ sauce, and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  2. Bake for another 15–20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  3. Let rest 5–10 minutes, garnish with parsley, then slice and serve.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh green salad. A little extra BBQ sauce on the side can enhance the flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
