For the Dipping Sauce (Optional)

  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt Optional for a lighter option.

Method

Preparation
  1. Peel and slice apples into ½-inch wedges, removing cores and seeds.
  2. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
  3. Set up a breading station with bowls of flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with half of the cinnamon-sugar blend.
Breading
  1. Dredge each apple slice in flour, dip in beaten egg, then press into the breadcrumb mixture until evenly coated.
  2. Repeat with all slices.
Cooking
  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Arrange apple slices in a single layer, spray lightly with cooking spray, and air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
  3. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon-sugar and serve hot with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping.

Notes

If you have leftover apple fries, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 2 to 3 days. To reheat, place in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes to regain crispiness. Experiment with different spices like nutmeg or ginger for unique flavors.
