Method
Preparation
- Peel and slice apples into ½-inch wedges, removing cores and seeds.
- Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
- Set up a breading station with bowls of flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with half of the cinnamon-sugar blend.
Breading
- Dredge each apple slice in flour, dip in beaten egg, then press into the breadcrumb mixture until evenly coated.
- Repeat with all slices.
Cooking
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
- Arrange apple slices in a single layer, spray lightly with cooking spray, and air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
- Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon-sugar and serve hot with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping.
Notes
If you have leftover apple fries, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 2 to 3 days. To reheat, place in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes to regain crispiness. Experiment with different spices like nutmeg or ginger for unique flavors.
