Ingredients

Dough ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
Filling ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup spicy sauce (like sriracha or buffalo sauce)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (optional for extra creaminess)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Method

Make & Rise the Dough
  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Add warm water and olive oil, then knead until the dough is smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Prepare Filling & Shape Buns
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In another bowl, combine shredded chicken, spicy sauce, and cheese. Once the dough has risen, divide it into small balls and flatten each one. Place a spoonful of filling in the center, fold over, and seal the edges.
Bake & Serve
  1. Arrange the buns on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with herbs. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store any leftover buns in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze them for longer storage. To reheat, simply pop them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes or microwave them for a quick warm-up.
