Ginger Shot

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 piece 4-inch piece fresh ginger (about ½ cup chopped)
  • 2 pieces Juice of 2 lemons (about ¼ cup)
  • 1 tablespoon Honey (optional)
  • 1 pinch Black pepper (optional)
  • ¼ cup Water (adjust to taste)
Optional Add-ins
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric (plus a pinch of cinnamon)
  • 1–2 tablespoons Orange juice (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar (optional)
  • 1 small piece Pineapple (for a smoother flavor, optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the ginger and scrape the skin with a spoon (optional). Chop into small pieces.
Blending
  1. Add ginger, lemon juice, water, honey (if using), and black pepper to a blender.
  2. Blend for 45–60 seconds until very smooth.
Straining and Serving
  1. Strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a jar.
  2. Pour into small shot glasses and enjoy.

Notes

Serve chilled. Store in a sealed glass jar or small bottles in the refrigerator for up to 4–5 days. Shake before using as natural separation is normal. Can also freeze in ice cube trays for longer storage.
