  • 1 lb Lean Ground Turkey
  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Breadcrumbs for extra fiber
  • 1/2 cup Milk almond milk for dairy-free option
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup or BBQ sauce
  • 1 medium Chopped Onion or shallots
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced, or garlic powder
  • 1 large Egg or flaxseed meal with water for egg-free option
  • 1 tsp Salt adjust for lower sodium
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano or basil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce or soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Mustard optional, omit if preferred
  • 1/4 cup Extra Ketchup or BBQ Sauce for glazing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, milk, ketchup, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Mix until evenly blended.
Shaping & Glazing
  1. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
  2. Spread extra ketchup or BBQ sauce over the top for a glaze.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  2. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. To freeze, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil. It can be frozen for up to 3 months. To reheat, let it thaw in the fridge overnight, then bake until heated through.
