  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
Mixing & Baking
  1. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, mixing just until combined.
  2. Divide batter between pans, smooth the tops, and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cooling & Decorating
  1. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Frost with your favorite icing and decorate with fresh flowers.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for the best mixing results. For added flavor, consider adding lemon zest or almond extract to the batter. To keep flowers fresh longer, place them in water-filled vases next to the cake until serving.
